Vanita Vikas Mandal School – Nashik, India
The school is run by the Vanita Vikas Mandal board; a women intensive charity organisation that provides for the education of under-privileged children in the city of Nashik. Established in 1945, the school provides for the complete education of 1500 students free of cost.
It is Uma Ghosh Deshpande’s vision to see the school grow into a model institution of knowledge and character. One visit to the school will endear you the lively atmosphere in this seat of learning, bubbling with the cheerful buzz of its students. Uma has helped raise funds for the school from the UAE, during her association with it for the past 4 years.
The school now boasts of a serviceable computer lab, a science lab, a fully stocked-up library, an audio visual room and fleet of school buses amongst other things. Uma visits the school twice a year to interact with its lovely students.
